Who is responsible for your information?

The Wiltshire Motorcycle Rally organising team is responsible for personal information collected through this website. If you have a privacy question or want to exercise one of your data-protection rights, use the website contact form and tell us it is about privacy.

What we collect

We only ask for information needed for the part of the site you choose to use.

• Contact enquiries: your name, email address, subject and message.
• Newsletter: your email address.
• Photo submissions: the photos you upload, optional name and email, captions, and your confirmation that we may publish them.
• Reviews: the display name, rating and review you choose to submit.
• Tickets and bookings: when ticket sales are live, the information needed to process and manage your booking.
• Security and technical information: limited request, browser and security information needed to operate and protect the website and its forms.

Why we use it and our lawful bases

We use personal information only where we have a lawful basis under UK data-protection law.

• Enquiries: to respond to something you have asked us about. Depending on the enquiry, this is based on our legitimate interests in running the Rally or on taking steps at your request before a contract.
• Newsletter: with your consent. You can unsubscribe or ask us to remove your email at any time.
• Photos: where you give us permission to publish material you submit. You can contact us if you later want us to review or remove published material.
• Reviews: our legitimate interests in showing genuine Rally feedback and running the community part of the website.
• Tickets and bookings: to take steps at your request and perform the booking contract when ticket sales are live, and where necessary to meet legal obligations.
• Security and fraud prevention: our legitimate interests in protecting the website, organisers and visitors, and where applicable compliance with legal obligations.

Analytics

Google Analytics is optional on this website. It is not loaded unless you choose “Allow analytics”. When enabled, we use it to understand overall website use and improve the site. Advertising personalisation and Google Signals are disabled in our website configuration.

You can change your choice at any time using Analytics choices. Your choice is stored in your browser so we do not have to ask on every page.

Cookies and security tools

The site may use essential browser storage or security technology where it is needed to provide a service you request, remember your privacy choice, or protect forms from abuse. Our public forms use Cloudflare Turnstile for anti-spam and security checks. Optional analytics remains blocked until you allow it.

Who we share information with

We use service providers where necessary to run the website, deliver messages, protect forms and process services. This can include our hosting providers, Cloudflare for website security and Turnstile, Google Analytics only when you allow analytics, and payment providers when ticket payments are available. We do not sell your personal information.

Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we use an appropriate recognised safeguard or rely on another lawful transfer mechanism.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the reason it was collected, for legitimate event administration, security or legal requirements. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them. Published photos and reviews may remain on the site until they are removed or are no longer needed.

Your rights

UK data-protection law gives you rights over your personal information, including asking for a copy, asking us to correct or delete information in appropriate circumstances, restricting or objecting to some uses, and withdrawing consent where consent is the basis for processing.

If you are unhappy with how your information is handled, you can also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
